I take the health of the puppies I produce seriously, although I will not try to impress with flashy claims of my dogs being clear of 100 different genetic conditions, especially when most of those tests don't even apply to our breed.  I test as recommended by the national breed club, BMDCA, of which I am also a proud member in good standing. Longevity in the pedigree is always prized and sought after.                                    

    I also utilize the HS test by Antagene in France to try to minimize histiocytic sarcoma in my lines, this is the most common form of cancer seen in Berners, with cancer also being the single worst health challenge we face as Berner breeders, contributing to 65% or more of the deaths for these dogs. I am happy to answer questions on this subject.                                                       

   My goal is to make my commitment to improving health self evident by being transparent with the dogs and pedigrees involved, I am not here to make exaggerated claims about my puppies average lifespan with no information in berner garde to back it up.

   I have been blessed so far to see the vast majority of my puppies live happy and fulfilling lives with their families, my first litter was born in 2018 so average longevity remains to be seen. I'm excited to keep tracking all the Emerald puppies as time goes on.
